Tara Mulvihill

Fully Accredited Art Psychotherapist

Tara offers a thoughtful, gentle, and creative therapeutic space for teens who may find it difficult to express their inner experiences through words alone.

Her approach recognises that emotions, stress, and lived experiences are often held not only in the mind, but also within the body. Through a supportive and collaborative process, Tara helps clients explore feelings, develop self-understanding, and build a stronger sense of internal safety and regulation.

Sessions are guided with warmth, patience, and respect for each individual’s pace.

Therapeutic Approach

Tara is an accredited member of the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (I.A.C.A.T) and actively contributes to the organisation through its education subcommittee.

She works from a neuro-affirming and trauma-informed perspective, drawing upon art psychotherapy as a powerful, non-verbal mode of communication and self-expression.

Art psychotherapy provides a gentle and flexible way for clients to process emotions, experiences, and internal conflicts.

Areas of Support

Tara works with neurodivergent teens experiencing:

Anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm
• Low self-esteem and self-confidence difficulties
• Emotional regulation challenges
• Trauma and trauma-related difficulties
• Identity and self-understanding concerns

Her work is grounded in creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood.

Professional Background

Tara brings a strong background in education, alongside her clinical training as an Art Psychotherapist.

As a neurodivergent practitioner, she has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including women and girls who may be diagnosed or exploring their identity.

Her holistic perspective is further informed by her training as a yoga teacher. While Tara does not offer yoga therapy, her body-aware approach reflects an understanding of the connection between emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation, and embodied experience.
