Sophia Idowu

Registered Play Therapist

Sophia works with children and adolescents aged 7–18, offering a gentle, supportive environment where emotions, worries, and experiences can be explored through play and creative expression.

She understands that young people often communicate feelings in ways that are not always easy to express in words. Her work provides a safe, developmentally attuned space where children and adolescents can process emotions, build confidence, and develop healthier ways of coping.

Sophia’s calm and compassionate presence helps young people feel secure, understood, and free to express themselves at their own pace.

Therapeutic Approach

Her work is grounded in the understanding that play is a young person’s natural language and an important pathway for emotional expression, processing, and regulation.

Sessions are guided with sensitivity, safety, and respect for each child or adolescent’s individual needs.

Areas of Support

Sophia supports children and adolescents experiencing:

Anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm
• Low confidence and self-esteem difficulties
• Emotional expression and regulation challenges
• School-related worries or pressures
• Adjustment to life changes or difficulties
• The effects of distressing or difficult experiences

Play therapy allows young people to explore feelings in ways that feel natural, safe, and manageable.

Parenting Support

Sophia also offers parent consultations, supporting caregivers in understanding their child’s emotional world, strengthening connection, and responding to challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
