Carmel works with adults, offering a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions and life experiences in a safe, accepting and confidential environment.

She believes that meaningful change begins when people feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood. Carmel aims to build a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients can deepen their self-awareness, navigate life’s challenges, and move towards greater self-understanding, healing and lasting personal growth.

Therapeutic Approach

Carmel is currently in the third year of the MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at Turning Point Institute (TPI), Dublin.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centred values, while her ongoing training in integrative psychotherapy is helping her develop an approach that thoughtfully draws on a range of therapeutic perspectives to meet each client’s unique needs. She is committed to meeting every client with empathy, respect and authenticity, recognising that each person’s experiences, strengths and goals are unique.

Background

Alongside her psychotherapy training, Carmel has over twenty years’ experience in primary education, supporting the wellbeing of children, families and colleagues. This experience has deepened her appreciation of empathy, authentic connection and the importance of creating a safe, respectful and supportive therapeutic environment.

Her clinical work is undertaken within The Misneach Centre’s clinical framework and is supported through regular professional supervision.
