Claire Gill

Student Psychotherapist

Claire works with adults, offering a holistic approach to matters of well-being. She gives attention to the importance of establishing a good working therapeutic relationship with her clients and offering a safe non-judgemental trusting environment.

With the focus of the therapeutic work between the therapist and the client centred around meeting clients on a physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioural level Claire works therapeutically with the client by exploring at a deeper level the presenting issues, to help client to develop a better understanding of self and awareness around the presenting issues.

Therapeutic Approach

Claire uses different modalities that best suit the client’s unique needs, such as person centred, humanistic, and psychodynamic approaches in clinical practice. Instead of trying to fix negative thoughts she supports the client to accept these internal experiences with a warm supportive self-attitude rather than a self-critical one.

Areas of Support

Presenting issues Claire works with are:

Adverse childhood experiences

Anxiety

Depression

Hopelessness – Sessions support the client to find meaning in life

Issues arising from loss
