The Misneach Centre – Therapy Services Agreement (Under 18)

Welcome to The Misneach Centre. Our intention is to provide a safe, respectful, and private space for therapy.

The Misneach Centre operates in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP) and Irish Data Protection legislation.

How Therapy Works

The Misneach Centre is a multi-therapist service.

Anita Lynch, Clinical Director, completes the initial intake assessment. This assessment helps us understand what support is needed and identify the most suitable therapist.

Following the intake, therapy sessions are provided by a member of our adolescent therapy team.

Confidentiality & Safety

Therapy is private and confidential. Protecting privacy is central to the therapeutic process.

There are important limits to confidentiality required by law and professional ethics.

Confidentiality may need to be broken where:

There is a risk of serious harm to you or another person
• There is a child protection concern under the Children First Act 2015

Where possible, any necessary action will be approached with care and transparency.

What This Means

Therapists do not routinely share session content with parents or guardians.

However, where there is a serious concern regarding safety or wellbeing, parents/guardians and appropriate services may need to be informed.

Where appropriate, therapists aim to discuss concerns beforehand and involve the young person in understanding what may need to be shared.

Records & Documentation

Therapy notes are brief clinical reflections used by the therapist to support continuity of care and the therapeutic process.

They are not transcripts, legal records, or formal assessments.

For this reason:

Session notes are not released
• Notes are not suitable for legal or evidential use
• A statement of attendance may be provided where appropriate

All records are maintained securely in compliance with GDPR regulations.

Fees & Appointments

Teen sessions: €60 – €70 (depending on therapist)
• Parent & teen sessions: €100
• Session duration: Approximately 45–55 minutes

Payment is required in advance. Sessions are confirmed once payment is received.

Receipts are issued following payment.

Cancellations

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice (one full business day) is required for cancellations.

Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged at the full session fee.

Support Outside Sessions

The Misneach Centre is not a crisis service.

If concerns arise between sessions, parents/guardians may contact the therapist directly to make them aware of important changes or risks.

For immediate safety concerns, contact emergency services (999 / 112) or appropriate support services.

Choice & Participation

Therapy works best when participation feels voluntary and safe.

Young people are encouraged to engage at their own pace. Comfort, respect, and a supportive therapeutic environment are central to our approach.
